Foster network

Hi Everyone, I just heard a story from the Director of our Tara's Babies Dog Rescue. A friend of ours who also runs a foster/adoption program has developed a foster network of approximately 30-50 new homes per month! These are people who will take a dog temporarily into their home in order to save it's life. This of course gives time for a permanent home to be found. How does she do it? She talks to everyone she meets about her program. She is on fire with her love for the dogs and the importance of her foster family in successful rescue work.

With this in mind, it occured to me that if each of us could set that as our mission of love, and talk to whoever crosses our path everyday, we could do the same for Tara's Babies and save a whole lot of lives!

Kunzang, our Director, tells me to never judge someone as to whether or not we think they might be interested in fostering a dog. You would be amazed at the kindness and willingness to sacrifice that bubbles beneath the surface of so many people.

I would also like to pass along something I tell people when they say "I couldn't possibly foster a dog because I would become too attached and it would be too hard to give him up". Think about this, if you saw a child on the street who was starving, would you pass by without helping? I doubt it. It wouldn't cross your mind to think that it might be too difficult to help this child. And yet, because these dogs are not right in front of us, we don't remember their suffering and ultimate death when we could have done something to help.

I hope you will think about this and if at all possible, talk to people.....it matters a lot.

Thank you for all that you do!
